Gregory M. Kelton, RA, CSI, CCS, LEED AP
Architectural Specifications Consultant

Mr. Kelton has more than 34 years of experience as a licensed architect, with experience in many projects types from coast to coast and internationally, including Israel, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

He has been writing construction specifications for the 15 years, and maintains an active role in the Construction Specifications Institute.

He is the owner of ARCHISPEX.

ARCHISPEX was launched on the premise that an architect can provide a better specifications product. Greg Kelton is not only an experienced specifications writer, but he is also a licensed Architect with more than 30 years of professional experience in the construction industry. As an architect, he understands the details, concepts, and systems that are represented in the drawing set, and by being able to “read between the lines” he is able to provide specifications that go beyond the actual graphic representation shown on the drawings and get to the intent of the concept and system shown.  This understanding allows him to provide feedback to your staff that will improve drawing / specification coordination.

We Provide:

  • Expertise: The specifications define the requirements for products, materials, and workmanship and are the basis for the contract, the requirements for administration, and the performance of the project. ARCHISPEX thoroughly understands the structure of specifications and the subtle relationships between the divisions and the individual sections.
  • Resources: Projects can place temporary strains on a company’s resources. ARCHISPEX can keep the project moving when your staff is at capacity. We also maintain current industry recognized specifications standards and manufacturer’s guide specs – another significant time-saver for you.
  • Flexibility: ARCHISPEX can add expertise to your organization without the commitment to a permanent hire. You pay only for what you need and only when you need it.
  • Perspective: ARCHISPEX can provide a fresh perspective that can be useful in solving persistent problems. We have no attachment to existing processes and can question everything. Our experience in solving problems enables us to present a broad view of the possibilities, to interact with the project team to suggest solutions that ensure better drawing-specification coordination.
